Blackburn Rovers‘ Axel Henriksson is on his way to Randers FC in the last week of the summer window.
Tipsbladet, and specifically journalist Farzam Abolhosseini, reports on the 24-year-old’s impending move to Denmark.
Disappointing season with Blackburn Rovers
The Swede spent his entire career in his home country before joining the Championship side from Gais in August 2025.
He was happy to have joined the Ewood Park club, and at that time, he said: “I liked it so much in Gothenburg, so when it became concrete for real, it became a lot for me. It sometimes felt unnecessary to move, but I landed on the fact that this is what I want and I’m very happy that it was Blackburn.”
However, the move didn’t work out for the two parties. The midfielder finished his debut season at Blackburn Rovers with 929 minutes from 20 matches.
Axel Henriksson hasn’t played under new manager Tony Mowbray this season and is unlikely to do so.
Blackburn Rovers man to go out on loan
Tipsbladet now report the Superliga side have reached an agreement with Rovers to sign the player on loan.
The two clubs have agreed to a purchase option. Farzam Abolhosseini didn’t mention the figure or whether there are any conditions to make his stay permanent.
There’s confidence the Swedish midfielder will soon arrive at the Superliga side. He is now waiting for the two clubs to sort out the final details of the loan operation.
Expressen in Sweden are also reporting Randers FC have reached an agreement with Blackburn Rovers to sign the midfielder on loan with a purchase option.
In short, Axel Henriksson needsTony Mowbray’s side to give the green light to travel to Denmark for the medical and other transfer formalities.
The Blackburn Rovers man will only hope to enjoy regular minutes at Randers FC, after a disappointing season in England.
