Manchester United have been provided with a route to the late loan arrival of Alejandro Balde from Barcelona.

Sport report on the 22-year-old today, with his future at the Camp Nou still up in the air. The newspaper state that Barcelona have not received any offers for him at this point.

The Catalans are very much waiting for a proposal to arrive that they can analyse. Until that arrives, they have no decision to make about the left-back’s future.

They are open to receiving such offers, though. Recent reports have indicated that Manchester United are keen once again.

And the player’s agent – Jorge Mendes – was recently in Barcelona for transfer talks about and his other clients at the Camp Nou. Alejandro Balde, for his part, is not ruling out a move this summer.

But he has not decided that his time at he club is over either. He is even reportedly considering staying at the club. He believes that he can convince Hansi Flick of his value.

Any exit depends on the nature of the offers he and Barcelona receive. Both are now waiting to actually receive them.

Manchester United interest

Sport then detail Manchester United’s interest. Reports in England have suggested that they could send a loan offer for the full-back.

The newspaper argues that this would make sense. It would allow the player to seek playing time and consistency without Barcelona losing him permanently. They still value Balde given he is a La Masia trained player.

However, as has been made clear, Manchester United’s interest is yet to materialise into a concrete proposal. The opportunity is there, they simply haven’t taken the necessary steps.

Whether they do so, remains to be seen. But with criticism around Luke Shaw following the loss to Hull City, now could be the time to move to secure a replacement.
