Manchester United‘s Diego León has the possibility of leaving the Premier League side before the window closes next Tuesday.

The Paraguay international’s agent, Renato Bittar, has been speaking to ABC Cardinal to discuss several of his clients’ situations.

ABC Cardinal journalist Juanma Figueredo took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to relay the agent’s comments about the defender.

Diego León’s agent Renato Bittar says Michael Carrick’s side are yet to decide about his client’s immediate future.

The fullback has a contract until 2029, and his agent is leaving the door open to leave Manchester United in this window.

“He’s in a growth phase, his body is handling the training load very well,” he said.

“His future is still unclear, the club hasn’t asked us to let him go. We’ll see if anything comes up this week.”

Last summer, the left-back arrived at Old Trafford from Cerro Porteño and Ruben Amorim didn’t include him in his plans.

This led to reports of OGC Nice wanting to sign Diego León on loan in January. A move never took shape, after the agent ruled out a move from the Premier League side.

Amorim’s successor Michael Carrick also didn’t consider him earlier this year. In short, the 19-year-old is yet to make his first team debut for the Red Devils and played 20 matches for their U21s last season.

Despite this, the youngster said in March he maintains the hope of making it at Old Trafford.

Luke Shaw is the first choice left-back with Harry Amass as his recognised backup. Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu can also operate in that position.

Meanwhile, the Premier League side are considering signing Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde, preferably on loan.

There’s uncertainty around Amass’ future and whether a new left-back will arrive in the next few days. This, coupled with Shaw’s fitness history, could be why Manchester United didn’t make a decision yet on León.

If the Paraguayan were to leave, it’s most likely on loan to continue his development.
