Liverpool have made offers to sign Crystal Palace‘s Ismaïla Sarr and Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Yankuba Minteh this summer.
Crystal Palace and Brighton have rejected two bids each for the 28-year-old and Minteh respectively.
On Sunday, Sport Witness relayed news of Liverpool preparing to make a new €75-80m bid for the Senegal international.
Liverpool want Crystal Palace man
D Sports journalist Khadim Diakhaté took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that the Merseyside club want to sign two attackers.
Ismaïla Sarr’s camp is confident he will move to Anfield before the deadline.
A source close to the Crystal Palace star told Diakhaté that ‘it’s [Liverpool move] is going to happen’.
The Reds will submit an improved offer, and ‘all parties remain confident about the outcome of the deal’.
Liverpool reactive deal for Brighton player
The English club’s confidence of signing Ismaïla Sarr is misplaced. That’s according to journalist Foday Manneh, who also took to X to report the latest on him and Yankuba Minteh.
Crystal Palace have said ‘big no’ to selling the Senegalese amid Liverpool persisting to secure his services.
The situation is forcing the Anfield club to focus on the Brighton & Hove Albion man, who is available.
Andoni Iraola prefers the Gambia international to improve his side’s attack. This, coupled with the UEFA Conference League’s refusal to sell Sarr, have seen Liverpool reactivate talks with the Seagulls for the 22-year-old.
Brighton have already rejected £50m [€58.4m] and £60m [€70m] bids and raised the price from£70m [€81.7m] to £80m [€93.5m].
On Sunday, we relayed news about their negotiations to sign Minteh is not fully off, and Brighton could lower their demand below £80m.
Meanwhile, Manchester City want to sign Cody Gakpo and if he were to leave, Liverpool want to sign both Sarr and Minteh.
