Liverpool haven’t given up on signing Brighton & Hove Albion‘s Yankuba Minteh before Tuesday’s deadline.
That’s according to Footy-Africa, who states Brighton have to play an important role for the winger to join Liverpool.
Brighton rejected 2 bids from Liverpool
The Reds are closing in on signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola and want to sign another attacker.
There are a few targets, including Yankuba Minteh, and the Merseyside club have already made multiple offers.
Liverpool have tabled two offers of £50m [€58.4m] and £60m [€70m]. Brighton & Hove Albion, who rejected them, earlier requested a £70m [€81.7m].
Three days ago, Sport Witness relayed news the Seagulls increased their price to £80m [€93.5m]. Andoni Iraola’s side are still keen on signing the 22-year-old but won’t offer more than £70m.

The Premier League side maintain hope despite Brighton & Hove Albion rejecting two bids.
Liverpool are facing challenges to sign other attacking targets, forcing them to internally discuss the Gambia international again in the last few hours.
The uncertainty around his future has seen Fabian Hürzeler request the Seagulls to look for a player capable of contributing both while attacking and defending.
If The Amex club were to quickly sign a suitable replacement for the former Newcastle United man, it can favour Liverpool to sign Minteh.
That’s because Brighton may lower their price, probably making it more suitable for the Anfield club to relaunch a fresh attack. There’s no mention of a fee, and it’s likely to be around £70m.
Footy-Africa end their report by stating: ‘For now, the door remains open. Liverpool’s interest hasn’t been completely abandoned. Minteh continues to be a player under serious consideration as the club assesses its options.’
The Gambian hasn’t made an appearance yet this season as he’s recovering from a foot injury suffered during the pre-season. Last season, he managed three goals and four assists from 36 matches.
