Everton have made a strong push to sign AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun ahead of deadline day.

The Premier League side are likely to see Beto leave for Fiorentina in the next few hours.

At the weekend, Sport Witness covered a report from Italy explaining that the Serie A tabled a formal bid to sign Beto. The expectation is for La Viola to complete this operation and for him to replace Moise Kean.

Beto’s impending move has seen the Toffees look for a new striker late in this window and the focus is on Folarin Balogun.

Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Everton have sent an €18m bid to AS Monaco.

David Moyes’ side are keen and are pushing to secure the American services. The former Arsenal man wants to join Everton, and the two parties have an agreement in place.

Tavolieri hasn’t specified the details of the Toffees’ deal with the striker or whether Monaco have accepted their offer. The 25-year-old has a contract until 2028 and his value, as per Transfermarkt, is €50m.

Talking ongoing for late transfer 

Everton have less than 48 hours to sign Folarin Balogun as the window in England closes on Tuesday.

AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro confirms discussions are ongoing to sort out the American’s future and Ouest-France have relayed his comments. He and the newspaper make no mention of Everton or any of his other suitors.

“Yes, it’s true that there are talks regarding Balogun, which is why [Matthis] Abline is also in the picture,” he said.

“But we’ll find that out very soon, and then we’ll finish putting the team together. Our situation depends on who leaves, and then we’ll know how much room we have to sign players. If we can give Filipe more options, we’ll do it.”

Last season, the striker scored 19 goals and contributed five assists from 43 matches for Monaco.
