Fiorentina have submitted an official bid to Everton for striker Beto ahead of deadline day, valued at €20-25m.
Viola News report that while Fiorentina are pushing to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Manchester United, they also have an alternative option on the table.
Negotiations for the Dutchman are ongoing with Manchester United. Sporting Director Fabio Paratici is simultaneously evaluating other options. Viola News report exclusive information that he has submitted a bid for the former Udinese man.
€20-25m offer
That tallies with a report from Italy on Friday which said the same. Beto is very much on Fiorentina’s list as a replacement for Moise Kean.
Sport Mediaset offer the valuation. They state that before giving Como the green light to sign Kean, Fiorentina want a replacement through the door.
They had been focusing on Joshua Zirkzee, but Manchester United want to sell him outright, even if that means including an obligation to buy in a loan deal. Fiorentina just wanted an option to buy included.
As a result, Paratici has now ‘accelerated’ for Beto instead. He’s submitted an offer to Everton for the 28-year-old value at €20-25m.
Will Everton sell?
Whether that is enough to convince Everton, remains to be seen. Beto is a likely candidate for sale at this point in the window, particularly as he’s in the final year of his deal.
Everton reportedly have an option to extend by a year, but selling before deadline day would make more sense, particularly as the 28-year-old is behind Thierno Barry in the pecking order.
The Toffees paid €25m to sign the striker from Udinese in 2022. So, a deal worth a deal worth €20-25m would represent good value at this point. Indeed, it would give Everton a profit when amortisation is considered.
But it would also leave Everton needing to make a late move for a replacement, which may not be possible. For now, the offer is on the table, it’s up to the Toffees to decide what to do about it.
