Celtic have been in the hunt for Torino’s Gvidas Gineitis and their move is now intensifying.
The Hoops initially faced competition from Salzburg for the Lithuanian. But the Austrian club failed to find an agreement, leaving the door open for the Glasgow side.

Talks going in the right direction
Torino outlet Toro report that Celtic continue to push for the midfielder. They have made one last push for Gineitis and this has come in the form of an offer.
Talks between the two clubs are ongoing and have intensified.
The outlet expect more developments on this front in the ‘coming hours’. While the amount Celtic have offered is unknown, it can finally prove decisive.
This is mainly because Torino have been desperate for sales. Njie is on his way to Fiorentina and Gineitis is another player who has been up for sale.
This is because he came through the Granata’s youth academy. His exit will hand the Italian club a pure capital gain, which will help them with possible incomings late in the window.
Gianluca Di Marzio has added a bit more detail, noting that Celtic’s offer is for a permanent deal. They are now awaiting Torino’s response.
Our take: Deal could be excellent
Throughout the summer, Torino have valued Gineitis at around €10m. They have been desperate for clubs to step forward and Celtic can now take advantage of this. It can allow them to seal a convenient deal late in the window.
The 22-year-old Lithuanian is an exciting signing for O’Neil’ side. He is a very reliable technical outlet and this has already been seen this season at Torino. Ignazio Abate started him against AC Milan and Gineitis also started against Sassuolo at the weekend.
Celtic, as a result, will sign a player who is ready to start regularly.
