Liverpool are in ongoing discussions with Paris Saint-Germain for the signings of Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.

RMC Sport report that negotiations between the French giants and Liverpool are ongoing. The Reds are looking to sign two wingers before the end of the transfer window.

Manager Andoni Iraola admitted in his pre-match press conference this week that and admitted that they require signings on either flank.

“We need specific players for the flanks,” he said.

“In other positions, we need to keep an open mind regarding opportunities that could improve our squad. The goal is to strengthen the team where we already have very good players.”

Barcola out of PSG squad

He was then asked specifically about Bradley Barcola, which, RMC report, elicited a smile. The French outlet states that the 23-year-old is refusing to extend his deal with PSG. His current contract runs until 2028.

Until his future is resolved, he will remain out of the PSG squad. He watched the recent Trophée des Champions from the stands. PSG lost that game 1-0 to Lens.

The opportunity is therefore open for Liverpool. Barcola wants to move, PSG are happy to sell – and have already signed replacements – and Barcola is being left out until it is resolved. Liverpool just need to find a deal.

Mbaye contract agreement

The situation is different around Ibrahim Mbaye. Liverpool already have an agreement in place with the 18-year-old on a five-year contract.

He is ready to move on from PSG as he wants more regular first-team football. Liverpool, it seems, are ready to offer it to him. He is keen to move to Anfield.

With a contract agreement in place, the pressure is now on the Reds to accelerate negotiations with PSG for the Senegal international.

With Iraola now admitting that they need signings, perhaps the moment is now here for them to move definitively for both PSG players.
