Arsenal can pose a major threat to Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Everton‘s Iliman Ndiaye.
The window closes in less than 48 hours, and an intense battle is brewing between the north London rivals for the Everton player.
On Sunday, Sport Witness relayed news of Arsenal and Tottenham interest in the 26-year-old. The latter are very keen and have identified him as a priority target.
Later that day, the UK press reported Spurs have reached an agreement in principle with Everton to sign the Senegal international. As a part of the deal, Richarlison will move in the opposite direction.
Arsenal ready to challenge Tottenham
The Premier League winners aren’t giving up and are ready to make a strong push to sign Iliman Ndiaye.
That’s according to Taggat in Senegal, who took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report about the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s side have made an approach overnight to ask about the forward. It’s not clear whether the contact was with his camp, Everton or both.
Despite the 26-year-old reaching an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal are now trying to convince him to join them.
Arsenal’s plan to beat Tottenham
D Sports journalist Khadim Diakhaté took to X to back up Taggat’s claim and share more about the Gunners.
He also reports on an agreement in place between Iliman Ndiaye and Roberto De Zerbi’s side, but Arsenal want to hijack this operation.
In order to snatch the Everton star from Spurs’ clutches, Diakhaté reports the Emirates club are ‘preparing a major move’.
He provides no further information about their potential offer or whether the player or the Toffees are in favour of doing business with Arsenal.
The journalist ends the report by stating Monday could be key for the player’s immediate future.
Arsenal have to rush and quickly convince both Ndiaye and David Moyes’ side to wrap up his signing.
Last season, he managed six goals and three assists from 34 matches. This season, he contributed an assist in Everton’s 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
