1. FC Köln sporting director Thomas Kessler hints Tottenham Hotspur‘s Mikey Moore has a good chance of joining them if the Premier League side were to carry out more signings.
The Bundesliga side have been pursuing the winger for a while and want him on loan this summer.
On August 3rd, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that the Tottenham player rejects other clubs for FC Köln. Spurs’ plan is to let him leave on dry loan to continue his development.
He scored a brace in Spurs’ 3-0 friendly win over TSG Hoffenheim. This resulted in some concerns in Germany over his arrival.
Tottenham signing key for Moore’s exit
Earlier this week, we relayed news Roberto De Zerbi wants to first sign attackers before letting Moore leave.
On Friday, Thomas Kessler, manager René Wagner and vice-president Ulf Sobek attended a members’ meeting at RheinEnergieStadion.
During the event, the sporting director spoke about the Tottenham Hotspur player and Express.de have relayed his comments.
He confirms new arrivals at the north London club can have a direct impact on the German club’s squad planning.
Waiting for developments at Tottenham
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are working on signing Manchester City duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush, along with Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo. There are expectations for at least two of them to arrive in London.
A 1. FC Köln member asked Thomas Kessler about the latest claims from the UK about Savinho and Omar Marmoush.
Responding to that, he said: “Are they coming to us? [jokingly]”
The sporting director then gave a serious take on this.
“One or two rumours that have been circulating for a long time are not entirely wrong, at least,” Kessler explained.
The official, as per Express.de, hints about Mikey Moore’s arrival depends on Tottenham Hotspur signing attackers.
“And it’s also possible that major transfers in the Premier League could have a direct impact on our squad planning. But you never know [winks],” he added.
“There are simply still one or two positions vacant where we can’t yet report a completed deal. I expect that we’ll still be active in the transfer market.”
