Manchester City are making quick advances in their pursuit of Palmeiras’ Allan Elias this summer.
The Premier League side have identified the winger as a replacement for Savinho, who is on his way to Tottenham Hotspur.
On Friday, Sport Witness covered claims from Brazil that Palmeiras rejected Manchester City’s initial bid. This wasn’t a formal offer, and the Citizens will soon return with a fresh proposal.
The Brazilian club, for their part, have no intention of letting Allan leave for less than €40m.
Manchester City agree personal terms
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna first revealed the English club’s interest in the 22-year-old.
On Saturday, he took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report Enzo Maresca’s side have reached an agreement with Allan for personal terms. There’s no mention of the details.
Manchester City now have to find an agreement with the Brazil club. Aouna states the two clubs are ‘nearing an agreement’, which shows the Citizens have made quick advances to secure Allan Elias’ services.

Estadão in Brazil are also reporting the player is close to completing a move to the Etihad. His representatives are in talks with the two clubs to finalise the operation.
The English club have signalled to the South American club their willingness to offer €42m for Allan Elias. This includes €37.5m in fixed fee and the rest as bonuses. Estadão makes it clear they haven’t formalised this proposal yet.
Palmeiras’ initial plan was not to let any player leave. However, the attacker’s desire to leave and the Citizens’ purchase power saw the Brazilian club change their stance.
Allan, who has already rejected Napoli’s proposal, now wants to join Enzo Maresca’s side.
Palmeiras face Vasco da Gama in the league and manager Abel Ferreira has left him out of the squad.
This is a clear indication his move to England is at an advanced stage. It’s only a matter of time before the move goes through if there are no fresh setbacks.
