Chelsea want Juventus’ Francisco Conceiçao to replace Al-Hilal bound Pedro Neto this summer.
The Premier League side are likely to see Neto leave soon and are working on finding his replacement.
Earlier this week, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that an agent is working on taking Rafael Leão to Chelsea. He is reportedly an option to replace Neto.
New target for Chelsea
Gazzetta dello Sport backs it up and then says the Blues see Francisco Conceiçao as a new target to replace Pedro Neto.
He has a contract until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €30m. Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is planning to have him in the squad to face Frosinone on Sunday. The 23-year-old’s desire is to continue while being aware of the risk of leaving.
Jorge Mendes manages both the attacker and the Chelsea player. He’s now in the process of finalising Pedro Neto’s sale to Al-Hilal as their latest bid is closer to the English club’s demand.
Juventus not closing door on transfer
The Serie A side are waiting to find ways to improve their finances to balance their books and can end up sacrificing an important player.
Therefore, the Old Lady aren’t ruling out the possibility of Francisco Conceiçao leaving in this window.
His wish is to continue at the club as he finds it ideal for him to continue his development. However, the attacker’s desire can end up clashing with Juventus’ plan to cash in on his sale.
Gazzetta states: ‘In short, if Mendes were to present himself with the right offer, the Portuguese winger could leave, with little chance of reversing the outcome, considering he too was made aware of the risk of being sold at the start of the transfer window.’
The report adds ‘Continassa could receive a €40m offer’ from Xabi Alonso’s side.
Should Chelsea offer €40m, the Turin club will find it difficult to reject it. Jorge Mendes is orchestrating the three-way deal and Juventus have to watch out for the Blues attempt to sign Conceiçao.
