The pressure is growing on Crystal Palace to sanction the sale of Ismaila Sarr, with the two parties now in a ‘standoff’.

Foot Mercato report that Sarr and Crystal Palace are now in direct opposition over a potential move to Galatasaray.

That has now reached a head, with the Senegal forward expected to miss today’s Premier League opener away to Everton.

FM report that Sarr is not expected to be part of the squad for the trip to Merseyside. His absence comes as the 28-year-old ‘pushes internally’ for a way to join Galatasaray.

Contract agreement close

They question whether this absence is the forward’s way of putting more pressure on the club’s hierarchy to force a move away from Selhurst Park.

The French outlet state that Ismaila Sarr is edging closer to a contract agreement with Galatasaray. He has also made his desire to join the Turkish club clear.

Crystal Palace have already rejected an initial offer from the Super Lig club. They are reluctant to part ways with a player they consider to be key. However, Sarr is determined to leave and his absence against Everton only increases the pressure.

Sarr going AWOL

Now this report follows similar claims throughout this week. Sport Witness covered a report yesterday accusing Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage of bluffing over the forward’s future.

“We will keep him; we will keep him. He’s a really important player for the club and for us. He will be able to play this weekend,” he stated when asked about the 28-year-old this week.

But journalist Njabil Djellit argued that was contrary to what was going on behind the scenes. He suggested a clash could be on the way. A few hours later, and it was made clear from Türkiye that Sarr had gone awol.

Sport Witness covered a report explaining that he had not trained for the last two days. All indications were that he’s pushing to leave Crystal Palace.

Now he’s looking likely to be absent from the game at Everton, this transfer appears to be heading in one direction.
