Chelsea‘s Emmanuel Emegha took advantage of the break to make a trip to Paris, after struggling for prominence with the Premier League side.

In September 2025, the Blues agreed a deal with RC Strasbourg for him to arrive at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Chelsea player managed eight goals and two assists from 898 minutes from eight matches for Strasbourg last season. Multiple injuries restricted his game time. During the 2024/25 season, he scored 14 goals and contributed three assists from 29 matches.

Last November, he received a call-up from the Netherlands and made two appearances that month. Since then, the 23-year-old hasn’t represented the national team.

Difficult start with Chelsea

In July, the Dutchman picked up an injury during pre-season and is yet to make his debut for the Blues.

Xabi Alonso gave him a few days off during the international break and he endedup at a Paris nightclub. Emmanuel Emegha made a few statements outside the nightclub and Onze Mondial have relayed his comments.

He said: “I’m not a footballer, I’m an artist! I have two days off, so I’m making the most of it…”

The outlet immediately states Alonso is unlikely to appreciate this statement. The player may have said he’s not a footballer to avoid being recognised.

Not helping to improve Chelsea situation

In August, Sport Witness covered a report from France explaining Marseille explored a loan deal.

Chelsea, who initially wanted to include Emmanuel Emegha in Xabi Alonso’s plans, were open to his exit. However, the Ligue 1 side backed out after going through his medical report.

Last season, while at the Ligue 1 side, the frontman picked up four different injuries. This meant he was on the sidelines for 266 days. He suffered another setback after joining the English club and is yet to make his debut for Chelsea.

Alonso has João Pedro and summer signing Danny Welbeck as two other strikers at his disposal. Emegha should soon be available for selection.
