Carlos Forbs has turned his career around after a spell at Wolves and is now attracting interest from Tottenham and Manchester United.
The attacker’s improvement since last season has been significant at Club Brugge. He has also acquired experience in the Champions League, making a real mark against Inter Milan last week, as he racked up three assists.
That is in stark contrast to his time at Wolves, where he spent a season on loan from Ajax. In that period, he played just ten times in the Premier League and never cemented a spot for himself, which led to a return to Ajax.
Things are looking up for him, with Tottenham and Manchester United interested.
Clubs monitoring Forbs
ASRomaLive look at the attacker’s situation, taking note of how Roma are alive to the opportunity of signing Forbs.
They were left quite impressed by his showing against Inter and they had sent scouts for that game too. That isn’t the first time Roma have monitored Forbs, who has been monitored many times by the side from the Italian capital.
The report notes that the Portuguese attacker has been attracting more attention. Tottenham and Manchester United have him on their radar, with Spanish and German clubs also having tried to sign him in the summer.
So far in the campaign, Forbs has scored three goals and added six assists accross all competitions. Those numbers have been branded as quite impressive, especially as he has contributed to 32 goals in 62 appearances since joining the Belgian club.
Our take: Situation could intensify
This summer, Club Brugge sold Christos Tzolis to Arsenal and have seen clubs step forward for Nicolo Tresoldi too. This has coincided with club’s reputation improving globally because of their Champions League heroics over the past two seasons.
It is clearly a club on the rise with players that are quickly improving.
Therefore, there is no surprise that Tottenham and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Forbs. While his valuation is unknown, the next few months can see it reach new heights. This may come as a bit of regret for Wolves but Club Brugge can pocket a huge amount soon.
