Edoardo Bove has spent less than a year at Watford but already, doubts could be growing about his future at the club.
The midfielder became a regular for the London club towards the end of last season. The same pattern followed at the start of the ongoing campaign until the Italian picked up an injury and hasn’t featured since.
In the meantime, a documentary centred around Bove’s struggles with heart issues and his career is about to come out in November. This has made him a subject of attention in Italy, with the player himself having spoken about his long-term future at Watford.
Now, it is a talking point once again.
Agent asked about Italy return
The ex-AS Roma talent’s agent Diego Tavano spoke to Tuttomercatoweb about a host of topics in the Italian game. One of those was Bove and his time at Watford so far.
He promised that the midfielder will turn things around with the Hornets after his recovery.
Tavano said: “He started well, then an injury kept him from playing a feW games. After the break, he’ll pick up where he left off.”
The agent was also askedwhether Bove could return to Italy in the future. Heart problems forced the player into using a defibrillator, ruling him out of playing for Serie A clubs due to stringent regulations in Italy.
Tavano revealed he still has hope, saying: “We’re still confident, hopeful. If it’s not Italy, he’ll still keep playing, which is what he wants.”
He also spoke about the upcoming film involving Bove but also reflected on his future.
“In fact, I’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to see the film In un battito, which will be released in ltalian theatres on November 16th, 17th, and 18th, to understand what’s behind such a special boy.
“Whether it’s Italy or elsewhere, the important thing is that he does what he loves.”

Player not in it for the long-term
It is becoming increasingly clear that Watford was simply a way for the 24-year-old to get back to playing. That has clearly happened and the Roma youth graduate has impressed in several games.
The Hornets have provided him the platform to prove himself in England and should have no hopes of keeping him in the longer term.
The best they can hope for is to see him get back fit and impress again. This will help them earn as much as they can, when Bove finally departs.
