Teenager Abdellah Ouazane is currently in his first full senior season at Ajax and has already attracted attention from Manchester City.

The 17-year-old came through the Dutch club’s youth academy. While he was around the first-team, he has grown into more of a regular this season, featuring ten times in the Eredivisie.

He has two appearances in the Conference League and was key during Ajax’s 2-0 win over Atalanta. The teenager scored his first European goal in the tie, having found the net twice in the league already.

Now, talk around him is rising and Manchester City are in the hunt.

Competition growing

TuttoAtalanta note that Ouazane has become the new face of Ajax, who aren’t exactly at the same heights as they were some years ago. But the talent rejected a move to Real Madrid to join the Dutch club and the decision is finally paying off.

The deal with Los Blancos was almost done but at the end, the youngster said noas he favoured a stay in the Netherlands.

Now, Manchester City are keeping a close eye on his growth, with Juventus also in the picture.

For suitors, a deal could present an excellent opportunity, as Ouazane’s Ajax contract runs out in 2028. He hasn’t been tied down to a long term contract, which can be advantageous for clubs, especially as the Amsterdam side won’t be in a commanding position to ask for a big fee.

Our take: Player has big decision on his hands

The starlet already has one appearance for Morocco, which should send a positive signal to suitors. But picking between Manchester City and Juventus could be a big dilemma, as both clubs have a good track record of developing talents.

The Bianconeri have seen several talents do well with the Next Gen setup and then play at the highest level. The same applies for the Citizens, who sell young players on for a capital gain regularly.

For now, Ouazane should focus on playing regularly at Ajax. This is only his first season in the limelight and he wouldn’t want to make a big move too early.
