Trabzonspor have turned their attention to Norwich City striker Mohamed Toure, aiming to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
Sabah report that the 22-year-old is now a target for the Turkish side, who consider him a ‘top candidate’ in the final days of the transfer window.
The outlet reports that Trabzonspor are keen on the Norwich forward, who ‘offers strong physical attributes’ alongside ‘good link-up play’.
They are acting on a positive report from the club’s technical staff. This had led them to initiate formal talks with Norwich to sign the striker. Negotiations are currently centred on a loan agreement. The hope is to include a purchase option.
Discussions will intensify
Discussions are expected to intensify in the coming days. Transfermarkt currently value the striker at €8m.
Whether Norwich want to sanction a deal remains to be seen. They only signed Muhammed Toure earlier this year.
He later admitted that he had made the move on a hunch but has settled well at Carrow Road since. He bagged a hattrick in his full debut – a 3-0 win over Oxford United – the first hattrick of his career.
He’s since gone on to bag nine goals in 13 league games for the Canaries, but Philippe Clement’s side are well stocked when it comes to forwards at present.
Norwich options
Between Mathias Kvistgaarden, Toure, Jovon Makama and others they have plenty of options for limited positions at this moment in time.
That could make a loan deal more attractive. It would allow Norwich to send out Toure to get regular playing time and continue his development. Toure would also be offered regular playing time that may not be on offer in the Championship this season.
Trabzonspor are certainly exploring the signing, and talks are now expected to intensify over the coming days to try and get a deal done.
