Chelsea’s leadership are in Monaco to try and seal a rapid deal for Lamine Camara, to replace Enzo Fernandez.
Foot Mercato report that Chelsea are stepping up their pursuit of the 22-year-old and all parties are pushing to find a solution within 48 hours.
Sport Witness covered a report earlier today explaining that Chelsea had turned their attention to Camara in the dying days of the transfer window. Foot Mercato now add to that.

They report that Monaco have not shut the door to a departure. But they are demanding at least €50m to sanction a sale. Chelsea are aware and have ‘significantly stepped up’ their interest in the last few hours.
That’s naturally tied to the departure of Enzo Fernandez, who appears destined to join Manchester City for a fee exceeding €140m.
No formal offer has been submitted for Lamine Camara yet. But Chelsea executives are in Monaco to discuss the deal. They’re already meeting with counterparts from Monaco and the player’s entourage in the Principality.
Alonso approval
Discussions have begun and could move very quickly. Indeed, Foot Mercato report that a final agreement could be reached within the next 48 hours.
The potential deal has already received a seal of approval from Xabi Alonso. The Chelsea coach ‘moved quickly’ to gather information on Camara this week.
He specifically wanted to know about his personality and his ability to make an immediate impact in an environment such as Stamford Bridge.
The player is also open to the move. FM state that while he is perfectly happy at Monaco, he is ‘not indifferent’ to the concrete approach from Monaco.
The Ligue 1 club also see the bid as coming at the perfect time and want to seal an exit before Tuesday’s deadline. It was a case of selling Camara or Folarin Balogun and it currently looks like the midfielder will be the one to go.
