Nottingham Forest striker Arnaud Kalimuendo remains a candidate for Eintracht Frankfurt following his loan spell last season.
Friday’s print edition of BILD reports the 24-year-old would still like to return to Frankfurt this summer. That’s despite being reintegrated into the Nottingham Forest squad under Oliver Glasner.
The newspaper reports that any deal is now dependent on Glasner sanctioning another loan deal for the striker.
Frankfurt want further signings before the end of the transfer window next week. Manager Adi Hütter is ‘demanding’ signings be made, and board member for sport Markus Krösche is working to make that happen.
Kalimuendo still on radar
The German club are working on candidates. While the focus is currently on a new centre-back, Hütter would also like to see a new striker arrive. Any move will be dependent on other signings, though and potential financial wiggle room.
“A goalkeeper is obviously very, very important, and a centre-back will be very important too,” the manager said.
“And if we have a bit of loose change left and can do something up front, the coach certainly won’t say no.”
Kalimuendo remains an option to fill the striker position. BILD’s information is that he would like to return from Nottingham Forest following his loan spell last season. However, any deal depends ‘primarily on whether Oliver Glasner’ is willing to let him go.
Glasner blocking transfer
That’s been the stance for much of the summer. Sport Witness covered a report at the beginning of last month explaining the Austrian was the big roadblock to a deal.
A second report later that month again insisted that Glasner was the big issue blocking the deal this summer.
Since that point, Arnaud Kalimuendo has featured in both of Nottingham Forest’s games, starting in the EFL Cup and playing a minute in the Premier League.
There’s certainly been no indication that he’s not in Glasner’s plans. Now BILD insist that Frankfurt are still waiting for the Nottingham Forest man to give his approval.
