Chelsea have positioned themselves to sign AS Monaco’s Lamine Camara before the window closes on Tuesday.
That’s according to D Sports in Senegal, who states Chelsea have held talks with AS Monaco for the midfielder.
Chelsea identify new target

Enzo Fernández is keen on leaving the Premier League and his agent, Javier Pastore, has been working to find a new club.
The Argentine is most likely to end up at Manchester City. Faced with the possibility of losing Fernández, the Blues have already taken action. Xabi Alonso’s side have identified Lamine Camara as a ‘serious option’ to replace the former Benfica man.
Chelsea really appreciate his profile and have already started talks with the Ligue 1 side. The move hinges on the South American leaving Stamford Bridge.
If that happens, the Blues then have to find an agreement with Monaco and Camara.
Second source backs up Chelsea talks
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to also report the London club have identified the 22-year-old as the target to replace Enzo Fernández.
Chelsea are in negotiations with Monaco, and Tavolieri reports Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro is leading the talks. His aim is to finalise Lamine Camara’s sale for around €60m ‘within 48 hours’.
Earlier this month, Crystal Palace already saw the Ligue 1 side reject their €35m bid for the Senegal international.
On August 14th, Sport Witness covered a report from France explaining that Manchester United have to offer more than €60m to convince Monaco to sell Camara.
The Red Devils haven’t made advances, and if this figure is to be believed, Chelsea will need over €60m to sign the midfielder. The two reports don’t mention whether he’s open to joining the Blues.
He moved to France when FC Metz signed him in 2023, and a year later, they sold him to Monaco.
Camara has played 74 matches for his current club, managing seven goals and 11 assists, and 31 were from last season.
