Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison is one of two targets for Galatasaray, with talks already underway with the Brazilian.
Haber Sarikirmizi report comments from journalist Burhan Can Terzi regarding a move for the Tottenham striker.
He states that talks are already underway with the 29-year-old. He looks destined to leave Spurs before the end of the transfer window.
“Galatasaray is in contact with Richarlison, the 29-year-old Brazilian centre-forward currently playing for Tottenham,” he told the SporON YouTube channel.
“A figure of €30m is being discussed for the player, and Richarlison has a salary expectation exceeding €15m.”
€25m valuation questionable
The question is whether Galatasaray are willing to spend such sums on Richarlison. Based on face value, it seems unlikely. The striker is currently valued at €25m by Transfermarkt but his deal expires in a year.
That means Tottenham need to sell this summer to ensure they do not lose him on a free transfer in a year’s time. That’s the kind of situation that Galatasaray will likely want to take advantage of.
A €15m a year salary works out at around at around €288,000-a-week also, which is excessive to say that least, particularly for a player like Richarlison with a rocky injury history in recent years.
Tottenham considerations
It also remains to be seen if Tottenham have other plans for the Brazilian. Sport Witness covered a report today explaining that he could be involved in a deal for Iliman Ndiaye.
Spurs are, reportedly, considering competing with Manchester City for the Everton forward. That’s despite the recent arrivals of Savio and Omar Marmoush.
While they need to balance the books following those big arrivals – and ones earlier in the window – would they value using Richarlison as a makeweight for Ndiaye more highly than selling him?
It could make for an interesting final few days of the window if Galatasaray step up their interest after initiating talks.
