Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and could include Richarlison in the potential deal.
Foot Mercato report that the 26-year-old Everton start is attracting plenty of interest at the end of the window. Tottenham are now joining Manchester City among those who are keen.
Tottenham remain keen to improve their forward options at the end of the window. They’ve already signed Savio and Omar Marmoush this week. Monaco’s Folarin Balogun is also on their list.
Part of their potential strategy to get Ndiaye could be including Richarlison in the deal. But they will have to move quickly as Manchester City are progressing in talks. They have no intention of stepping aside.
Need to convince Everton
The question is whether Tottenham can offer a deal that Everton will accept. David Moyes insisted today they don’t intend to sell their best players.
But Iliman Ndiaye departing has looked increasingly likely all summer, particularly as he has rejected various contract renewal offers this summer.
A €80m plus deal also represents a huge profit on a player who cost them €18m two years ago. That has to be taken into consideration despite their reluctance to sell.
Beto for Richarlison?
Whether they would take Richarlison back is another matter. The Brazilian remains a favourite on Merseyside, but he is not the player that he once was after an injury hit few years in London.
There is also Thierno Barry to consider. He has started this season in fine form – four goals in two games to date – and looks ready to have a better second season than his first. Richarlison would only realistically be a back up option to him.
Of course, that could make sense if Beto were to leave. He currently has admirers in Italy, as Sport Witness have reported. It will be up to Tottenham to find a deal that can convince Everton, if they advance their interest in the final days of the window.
