Fikayo Tomori has been linked with several clubs in England and Fulham are now pushing for his late signature.
The defender has been excluded from the Rossoneri project by Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager believes he doesn’t fit his system and doesn’t offer the ability on the ball that he wants defenders to have.
This led to Sport Witness covering Aston Villa interest in the centre-back. The Birmingham club made initial contact for a possible deal but never went beyond that. Coventry City also tried to sign Tomori, however, the player wasn’t keen on the move.
Now, Fulham are trying to engineer a late transfer.
Player could be interested
Previously, Tomori showed clear hesitation regarding Coventry City. That is what attracted other offers, handing a chance to Fulham.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport’s Luca Bianchin reports that the London club have made a late offer for the Englishman.
The player is considering the move, with Milan’s stance about his exit not having changed.
The terms on offer from Fulham aren’t known yet. Since the player hasn’t offered an outright rejection, there is a chance a move can go through on deadline day.
This comes right after Alvaro Arbeloa’s side made contact for Lecce’s Tiago Gabriel. Sportmediaset report that Milan themselves are interested, with the player valued at €25m.
Tomori would be a convenient move
Since Fulham are moving late, Milan could make it easy for them to land Tomori. Previously, a €15m valuation has been spoken of but that can now change. The Rossoneri are keen to get rid of the 28-year-old, as they want to free up financial room.
This would allow them to sign Gabriel from Lecce. While he costs more than Tomori, Fulham’s offer can hand them the money to complete the operation.
The Englishman may not be excellent on the ball but he would be a reliable squad player. He offers Premier League experience that can come in handy later in the campaign.
