Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush has reached a verbal agreement with Tottenham Hotspur, with a deal now expected.
Sky Sport Germany report Marmoush now has an agreement in place with Spurs to join Roberto De Zerbi’s side this summer.
They state that negotiations between Tottenham and Manchester City are now expected to be concluded soon. As far as they’re concerned, a rapid transfer is on the cards ‘unless something extraordinary happens’. There is confidence on all fronts.
The outlet makes no mention of the asking price at this moment in time. But it is unlikely to be a small fee given the £85m Tottenham are paying to sign Savinho from the Etihad. Manchester City also paid €75m for Marmoush a year ago, so they will want to recoup that figure.
Manchester City failure
The move to Tottenham will bring an end to a disappointing year at the Etihad with Manchester City for Omar Marmoush.
He arrived to much fanfare in January 2025 after impressing at Eintracht Frankfurt. He scored 37 goals and registered 20 assists in 67 after joining on a free transfer. In 62 games for Manchester City, he has managed 16 goals and six assists.
Ultimately he never fully established himself under Pep Guardiola. While that is largely to do with the presence of Erling Haaland, it is fair to say the deal has not worked out.
Tottenham hope
And it does not appear that he has convinced Enzo Maresca across pre-season either. Like Savinho, a deal to take him to Tottenham is now in the final stages.
The hope for Tottenham is that he can add to a forward line in desperate need of reinvention.
After focusing on their defence and midfield, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are now determined to add to their attacking options by raiding Manchester City for Savinho and now Marmoush.
