Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee could yet go out of the door this summer and terms of a possible transfer are now becoming clear.
The striker hasn’t had a great time at Old Trafford, since joining from Bologna in 2024. His prominence under Michael Carrick in the second half of last season reduced and this came after a move to AS Roma didn’t materialise.
Sport Witness covered how the Giallorossi were keen on the striker. Manchester United weren’t open to a loan exit, which caused the Italian side to land Donyell Malen instead.
Roma will have no regrets about how things have gone with Malen, and Zirkzee can end up at Juventus.
Discussions held over loan deal
Today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport reports while Napoli are interested in Zirkzee, he is much keener on a move to Turin.
Even the Old Lady see the striker as a priority and have been working on an agreement for a while.
Zirkzee currently has a direct line to the Bianconeri. This is likely because of his agent Kia Joorabchian. He has been close to Juve since they signed Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in 2024.
The relationship between the Turin club and Manchester United is also ‘excellent’. That is why discussions have been held over a loan deal. The parties have also spoken about the possibility of inserting an obligation to buy, which would suit the Red Devils more.
The player is currently awaiting a call from Juve, with Carrick’s side trying to identify replacements.
