Tottenham is on the brink of spending around €151m (£130.6m) on a remarkable double swoop for Manchester City pair Savinho and Omar Marmoush.

British reports revealed on Wednesday evening that Spurs are working to sign both attackers. Now talks with City are advancing quickly.

Brazil’s Globo Esporte now provide another important piece of the story: the potential combined cost.

They say the two operations are expected to reach around €151m (£130.6m), including fixed fees and bonuses.

There’s also an interesting detail about how the double move came about. The report says Tottenham expressed their interest in Marmoush during their negotiations for Savinho. And talks for the Egyptian are now also described as advanced.

So what started as a long pursuit of one Manchester City attacker could end with Roberto De Zerbi getting two of them.

Savinho deal almost there

The Brazilian is clearly the more advanced of the two. Globo Esporte say Tottenham and Manchester City have already aligned the Savinho transfer, with only the final issues left to resolve.

The expectation is for those details to be sorted this week. Savinho should then be given permission to travel to London for his medical.

We also finally have a detailed breakdown of the money involved. Spurs are set to pay €93.3m (£80.7m) guaranteed. There is another €5.7m (£4.9m) available through performance-related bonuses. That takes the Savinho package to €99m (£85.6m).

It also clears up what ESPN Brasil journalist Bruno Andrade had previously reported. He confirmed the operation would reach around £85m (€98m), but stressed Tottenham wouldn’t be paying the entire amount as a fixed fee.

At the time, the exact structure had yet to be established. However, Globo Esporte now appear to have that missing part of the puzzle.

Savinho’s situation at City is already pointing towards an exit. He wasn’t included on the bench for Sunday’s 3-0 Community Shield defeat to Arsenal. Moreover, he has made his desire for a move clear.

Manchester City record on the way

If the transfer is completed on the terms reported in Brazil, it will also make Savinho the biggest sale in Manchester City’s history.

Julián Álvarez currently holds that record following his €75m (£64.9m) move to Atlético Madrid.

That is quite the turnaround from last summer. City rejected Tottenham’s £60m (€69.3m) approach and subsequently renewed Savinho’s contract until 2031.

A year later, Spurs are close to paying almost €100m (£86m) for him – and could take Marmoush along with him as part of €151m (£130.6m) worth of business between the two clubs.
