Rangers have a strong interest in bringing PSV Eindhoven’s Adamo Nagalo to Ibrox to strengthen Derek Mcinnes’ squad this summer.
Earlier this month, the Scottish club came close to signing the centre-back’s teammate, Couhaib Driouech.
Rangers had reached an agreement and Couhaib made a trip to Scotland to complete his move to Ibrox, before the move collapsed. PSV director Ernest Stewart has explained at length why the winger’s transfer didn’t go through.
Rangers return to PSV
Derek Mcinnes’ side have returned to the Eredivisie side, this time for Adamo Nagalo.
Africa Foot report the Ibrox club have added the 23-year-old to their target list.
He joined the Dutch club in 2024 and has played 12 matches, mainly in his preferred role as a centre-back.
Earlier this year, the Burkina Faso international joined Konyaspor on loan and played 13 matches.
Rangers to face competition
That seems to be enough to convince the Ibrox club as the outlet says their ‘interest is real’, which could soon be converted into an approach.
There’s no clarity on whether Rangers are looking to sign him on a permanent move or on loan.
Derek Mcinnes’ side aren’t alone as Konyaspor and Çorum FK are also keen on securing his services. These clubs are likely to fight for Adamo Nagalo’s signature in the final weeks of the window.
The defender hasn’t made an appearance in the first two matches of this season. He has a contract until 2029, and Transfermarkt value him at €2.8m.
PSV Eindhoven are ‘currently working on a solution’ for his future, indicating they are open to letting him leave.
Africa Foot end their report by stating: ‘This situation will continue to develop in the coming days. A potential offer from Rangers to PSV Eindhoven could now move the discussions forward.’
Rangers can capitalise on the uncertainty around Nagalo’s situation at PSV and sign him, either on loan or a permanent transfer this summer.
