Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro has promised to come back stronger from the injury that has ruled him out of the international break.

The 27-year-old took to Instagram after he was ruled out of the international break following limping out of the Tottenham’s defeat to Aston Villa.

Injury response

The full-back lasted just 19 minutes in that game before going down with an unknown problem..

He was shown slamming his fists into the ground in frustration before signalling for medical attention from Tottenham’s medical staff. He eventually hobbled off the pitch before being replaced by Archie Gray.

Spain quickly ruled him out of their squad for the international break as a result. He has now addressed the issue on his Instagram account.

“Sometimes you have to stop, take a breath, and start over,” he said.

“Now it’s time to recover and trust the process. I’ll come back stronger, hungrier, and more determined than ever. This is just another bump in the road. See you soon.”

Mystery over fitness issue

As yet, there have been no indications on the issue that has ruled Pedro Porro out of action.

He had, though, only recently returned from what had been described as a small muscular injury.

The latest injury is clearly a serious one, though. Serious enough for him to be missing three weeks of international football and for him to insist that he needs to ‘trust the process’ anyway.

The real concern is that it could be a re-occurrence of the hamstring injury he suffered earlier this year. That saw him spend 35 days out of action from January to February. That was the latest in a series of muscle injuries for him.

Indeed, he has six on his record since 2019. He also suffered an unidentified ‘strain’ in 2024 as well. Now the wait is on to discover the extent of the problem and how long Tottenham will be without a key man after the extended international break.
