Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško has finally spoken out about his injury issues after he pulled out of Slovenia’s squad for the international break.
The Manchester United striker has expressed his disappointment on his Instagram account over his latest injury.
The striker is set to miss the international break. He’s suffered a recurrence of a shin injury that has carried on from the end of last season.
Injury recurrence
Sport Witness reported yesterday that the striker was set to undergo medical tests to work out the extent of his injury.
The problem ties back to Manchester United’s win over Liverpool in May when he suffered a shin injury. It saw him miss pre-season and he’s only managed 206 minutes of action this season to date.
He missed the 1-1 draw with Fulham on Sunday. There was early concern from Slovenia ahead of this international break regarding it.
‘What is so worrying is that all these conditions, which can cause a bone to hurt for so long despite the complete absence of a classic fracture or something similar, are usually chronic,’ it was stated.
‘This means that not only can they, by definition, drag on from March to September (and apparently soon into October). But they also have a very uncertain prognosis for the future. We will not go into various inflammations, problems with the internal structures of the bones and blood circulation. We have very little knowledge about all this.’

What Benjamin Šeško has said
Now Šeško has shared his disappointment publicly, via a post on his Instagram stories.
“I am very sorry that I will have to miss the national team’s upcoming matches. I have always played for Slovenia – and always will – with heart and pride,” the 23-year-old posted.
“The most important thing now is to fully dedicate myself to recovery. I’m already working on returning to the pitch as soon as possible to help both the national team and my club once again. I believe in our guys. I’m convinced that they will once again demonstrate the team spirit that has always defined us.
“I can’t wait to wear the national team jersey again; until then, I will be Slovenia’s biggest fan.”
It now remains to be seen how long Šeško is out for. It’s clear that everyone is concerned, particularly with medical tests booked on Monday.
That would hint that the issue is serious and Manchester United are now determined to resolve it, having tried a different approach that has not worked.
