Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ Ladislav Krejčí has joined the Czech Republic camp despite suffering an injury that forced him to miss last weekend’s Championship win over West Bromwich Albion.
César Peixoto confirmed the centre-back missed the tie because of a calf injury. He wasn’t certain of his involvement with the national team during the ongoing international break.
The 27-year-old already missed the start of the season with Wolves because of a fitness issue. This means he’s made only two league starts while missing five so far this season.
Wolves player under observation
New manager Santi Denia has included the defender on his first list. On Monday, Sport Witness covered a report from the Czech press explaining that there’s concern over his latest setback.
Later that day, Ladislav Krejčí was at the national team camp, along with the rest of his teammates.
The focus is on Denia’s first day with the national team, and Deník Sport, while covering this, shares an update about the Wolves man. Their title says ‘Krejčí left the field’, and within the report, there’s explanation on what he did yesterday.
There’s a video of the national team players entering the training pitch, and Krejčí was the only one not to wear football boots.
He greeted the new coaching staff and stayed on the sidelines for a while before going inside to carry out individual training. He was the only one to not train with the rest of the group, which the national team had decided in advance.

César Peixoto and his side don’t have to worry about him immediately. That’s because Ladislav Krejčí being part of the group is a positive sign of no serious setback.
