Arsenal seem pretty close to completing the signing of Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, but the transfer isn’t done yet.

Marca brings a story this evening saying there are still some procedures for the Gunners to go through before the transfer window closes.

It’s said Arsenal have already transferred €50m to La Liga’s bank account in order to trigger Thomas Partey’s release clause at Atletico Madrid.

However, even though we’re in 2020, people still show up at the league’s headquarters to submit the papers which confirm the payment.

Thomas Partey himself or a legal representative must go there and confirm the move. Marca writes that the player is currently on his way to London to join the Gunners, so it won’t be him who does that.

The report says it should be ‘a matter of hours’ before a lawyer or a representative shows up at La Liga’s headquarters and confirms the move. That must happen before midnight.
