Arsenal ‘could divert all their attention’ to Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as they look to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad with a new striker.
That’s according to Tuttosport, who say there’s every chance he may become the priority target, even if Juventus don’t particularly want to sell.
The newspaper explains that come the summer, Vlahovic’s current contract with Juventus will have two years left on it and his agent has long been talking to director of football Cristiano Giuntoli about a renewal, even for just another year.
That would help to amortise his cost a little better and spread his salary further, as that’s set to ‘skyrocket’ to €12m for the last two years of his deal.
At the moment they are not thinking about a sale but if they were to receive a concrete offer higher than his current valuation, they absolutely could not say no.
Arsenal are one of those who could make such a proposal and are ‘particularly attentive’ to the contractual situation he finds himself in with the Old Lady.
The belief is that, once their title battle with Manchester City is done, they could ‘divert all their attention’ to the striker and getting a deal done as they plan a squad capable of also taking on a leading role in the Champions League.
The growing belief is they want a striker, and could even sell Gabriel Jesus to get him, and Vlahovic is among the players they like.
In fact in Italy it seems to be between him and Bologna star Joshua Zirkzee, but if Juventus can’t sort out the contract with Vlahovic, it may be him Arsenal move for.
