Jadon Sancho does not want to return to Manchester United this summer, regardless of whether Erik ten Hag is in charge or not.
That’s according to Sky Germany, who say one thing is certain, Borussia Dortmund won’t be making him a record transfer to get him on a permanent basis.
They report that Sancho can imagine staying at Dortmund this summer and does not want to return to Manchester United once this season is over.
Even if Ten Hag leaves Old Trafford, he considers his time there at an end and doesn’t see his future anywhere near the club. Manchester United are also planning a departure but have not yet set and asking price for a sale.
Dortmund, for their part, would be happy to keep Sancho and are ‘currently examining models’ based around a loan with a purchase option.
They will explore their options and try to get a deal done but one thing is clear, they will not pay a club record €35m plus to bring him back permanently. That is simply too much for the Bundesliga side.
Thus, work needs to be done with Manchester United to work something out. The various parties have all set their stalls out and made their points clear, now it’s a question of making them merge together into a transfer.
