Newcastle United are today presented as strong contenders to sign Marcelo Brozovic from Inter Milan.

The claims are brought by Milan Web, who say that the Magpies are about to make their ‘first shot’ in Serie A.

It’s said that Newcastle seem ready to present an offer worth €25-30m to land the midfielder, and that would be seen well by Inter Milan, who are planning to reinvest in their squad.

Brozovic himself also seems keen on the idea, since he ‘could be very attracted’ to moving to the Premier League, especially in case the Magpies can get a place in the Champions League next season.

Inter Milan aren’t expected to make a big effort to keep the 30-year-old in their squad, so that wouldn’t turn into a saga, at least if Newcastle show up with a decent offer for the transfer.

The midfielder has recently lost importance in the Nerazzurri’s squad, as he’s frequently being benched. Also, because of a couple of injuries, he’s only made 24 appearances this season so far. That’s why he’s not set to be the expensive option he was in the past few years.
