Leeds United youngster Mateo Joseph has found himself the focus of ‘half of Europe’ as his performances at the club earn him attention.

That’s according to Marca, who say clubs from England, Italy, Germany and France ‘knock on the striker’s door’ this summer.

They explain that Joseph’s impressive performances for Leeds in Premier League2 last season, which earned him a call up with England for the U20 World Cup, where he also shone, have put the striker’s name on the table of numerous clubs.

Swansea City, Sampdoria and Wolfsburg ‘want to take’ the player from Leeds this summer but there are other Championship, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga teams in the mix for him. They’d all be keen on a loan deal for the striker.

What happens with him this summer remains to be seen as it is so far unclear whether new Leeds boss Daniel Farke has plans to use him this season or not.

A decision about his future will be made when his role in the squad is defined. If it’s clear he’s not going to be a regular under the German, there will be a decision on his next step.

Where that step will take him remains to be seen but the youngster has options all over Europe after 2022 proved to be ‘the year of the discovery’.
