Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are pushing for Santos wonderkid Marcos Leonardo, according to reports today.

The 20-year-old has been a hot topic in the Italian media lately, as AS Roma have just made an offer to buy him.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio says that today is the decisive day for the player to say whether he accepts the Giallorossi’s personal terms offer.

The reporter reveals that Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are also interested in him, but for now, he’s given his priority to Roma.

TuttoMercatoWeb, meanwhile, also feature their own story claiming Marcos Leonardo’s response to Roma should arrive today, actually ‘within the next few hours’. It’s Mino Raiola’s heir Rafaela Pimenta who’s taking care of the business.

The striker has 14 goals and four assists in 30 matches for Santos this season. He also had five goals in five appearances in the U-20 World Cup this year.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in Marcos Leonardo had already been reported by the Brazilian media, but Aston Villa’s chase seems to be something new. Now we shall see if they still have any chance of fighting Roma for the signing, as the battle may have an early ending.
