Last month we covered a report from Spanish newspaper Marca which stated Villarreal could likely expect some money from Wolves soon for Alfred N’Diaye.
On loan at the Championship club until the end of the season, Marca said Wolves have a commitment to sign the player if certain clauses are met.
N’Diaye must appear 25 times, and Wolves must be promoted to the Premier League, and then Villarreal will be due €9m.
Going to back to the period just after N’Diaye arrived at Wolves, another Spanish newspaper had similar claims.
Both talked about a €2.5m penalty for Wolves if the deal doesn’t go through. AS say if the club are promoted and back away from the purchase, they must pay Villarreal a €2.5m penalty. Marca stated the €2.5m penalty is payable if there’s no promotion and a permanent deal doesn’t happen.
Assuming the game clause relates to league matches, as these things normally do, N’Diaye is currently on 25 appearances, and he’ll certainly go over that.
It’s a transfer which looks pretty much nailed on for Wolves.
