Kim Hellberg has now agreed on the final details of a move to Middlesbrough and will join them shortly.

That’s according to Fotboll Direkt. They report that Hellberg will be leaving Hammarby to join Middlesbrough. He has now agreed on the final details with the Championship side.

According to their information, Hellberg will now fly within the next 48 hours and sign his contract. He agreed on the final details of the contract with Middlesbrough today.

Hellberg has verbally agreed to join them, and his contract will be signed either tomorrow or on Saturday. He is currently back home in Stockholm after recently being in London for talks with several clubs.

A return flight to the UK is now planned at some point over the weekend. After signing his contract, focus will turn back to a work permit. That could take until some time next week before it is approved, a frustrating delay we covered a few days ago.

A big financial step is on the cards for Hellberg too. His current deal is worth close to 5m kronor. This will be upped by Middlesbrough to 12-15m kronor. That’s a jump from €450,000 a year to between €960,000 and €1.36m a year.
