AC Milan are continuing negotiations with Nottingham Forest for Omari Hutchinson, after he missed the trip to Liverpool.
Journalist Gianluca di Marzio reports that Milan are continuing to make an effort for the Nottingham Forest man after opening talks for the 22-year-old.
Next few hours crucial
The Italian journalist reports that the ‘coming hours will be crucial’ for Milan’s efforts to sign Hutchinson before the end of the transfer window.
He states that the Italian side are continuing talks regarding the Nottingham Forest man, particularly after he was left out of Oliver Glasner’s squad for the trip to Liverpool on Saturday.
They have already inquired about the winger. The coming hours will now be crucial to determine the feasibility of the deal. There is no indication as to whether Milan are seeking a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
Nottingham Forest would, presumably, prefer the latter given the money that they spent to sign Hutchinson from Ipswich Town last summer.
Out of favour
Omari Hutchinson was a €43.4m purchase from the Tractor Boys following their relegation back to the Championship.
His first year proved to be a successful one, with one goal and eight assists in 41 games in all competitions and 2,448 minutes under his belt. All of his goals and assists came in 31 games in the Premier League.
His status appears to have changed under Oliver Glasner, though. Hutchinson is yet to appear in the Premier League – he was absent from the squad entirely for the trip to Liverpool.
His only minutes thus far, 11 of them, have come in the 2-0 defeat to Leeds in the second round of the EFL Cup this week.
That has led to suggestions he could depart and Milan are certainly trying. Talks with Nottingham Forest are already underway, and the next few hours are key to their hopes.
