Crystal Palace are keen on Marseille’s Quinten Timber and have positioned themselves to sign him.

The midfielder joined the Ligue 1 side from Feyenoord in January and played 16 matches this year.

He’s now in for a rapid exit and has an option to join Crystal Palace this summer.

New Crystal Palace target from Ligue 1

Crystal Palace

On Thursday, Sport Witness covered claims from France about the Eagles’ willingness to pay for Kévin Danois. However, AJ Auxerre are putting up a wall.

As well Danois, the UEFA Conference League winners are looking at another midfielder from Ligue 1.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who covers Crystal Palace’s interest in Quinten Timber.

The Ligue 1 side are going through a financial crisis and are looking to improve economic conditions by offloading some of their players. The Dutchman is on this list, even though he arrived at Marseille a few months ago.

Crystal Palace are in the market for a midfielder and have included Timber, who is the new target, in their shortlist.

Player favours PL move

The 25-year-old’s situation at the French club has seen him attract interest from a few clubs.

Foot Mercato only mentions Pierre Sage’s side, who have positioned themselves to sign him.

Quinten Timber favours a move to the Premier League, also because his brother, Jurriën Timber, plays for Arsenal. A move to Selhurst Park will see the Timber brothers live in London. In short, the ‘interest appears to be mutual’.

The London club can take advantage of Marseille’s financial situation and his desire to move to England.
