Manchester United are exploring a deal for Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde towards the end of the summer window.
The Premier League side are in the market for a new left-back and have looked at Racing Santander’s Jorge Salinas and Club Brugge’s Joaquin Seys.
Club Brugge reportedly have no intention of letting him leave despite Manchester United’s concrete interest.
Atlético Madrid are pressing for Salinas while the Red Devils will find it difficult to sign Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall.
Earlier this year, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of their interest in Balde. He can now be an option for Michael Carrick’s side.
Manchester United make approach
The English club are showing interest in the Barcelona player and Sport covers the latest.
Manchester United have contacted Alejandro Balde’s agent Jorge Mendes to ask about the conditions to sign him and whether there are chances of him leaving the Camp Nou.
Mendes also represents João Cancelo, who completed a permanent move to Barca. He will compete with the Spain international for the left-back position.
Balde has a contract until 2029, but his immediate future remains uncertain. His desire is to continue with the La Liga winners.
Manchester United option discussed
That doesn’t mean the fullback can’t leave before the window closes. Alejandro Balde will consider a move if Barca were to ask him to leave or if there’s a substantial offer.
Manchester United, who are keen, haven’t converted their approach into an offer so far.

Hansi Flick appointed the Brazilian as his new captain and Sport suspects the post is to support his teammate when there are exit links.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo says Jorge Mendes was in Barcelona to hold talks with the Spanish champions.
The fullback’s name came up during yesterday’s meeting, ‘in connection with a possible move to Manchester United’.
