Valencia are increasingly confident of a deal for Leeds United’s Largie Ramazani, courtesy of the Whites recent squad number announcement.

Superdeporte report that the Premier League side recently announce their squad numbers, without including the Belgian winger. That’s seen as a decision which could facilitate a deal for Valencia during the final stretch of the transfer window.

The newspaper argues that the decision not to give Ramazani a squad number means he is ‘now clearly marked’ as a play they don’t plan to use.

The situation could prove decisive for the Spanish club. They are closely monitoring the market and view the winger – who was on loan at the Mestalla last season – as a prime option to bolster their attack.

Leeds have spent the summer seeking a permanent exit, with their asking price beyond Valencia’s financial reach.

Hope for €5m deal

However, that could be about to change. Valencia hope that the lack of a spot in the team will allow a deal worth less than €5m. Alternatively, and maybe preferably, a loan with an affordable purchase option could be on the table.

The feeling in Valencia is that the time to make a move could arrive in the coming days. Both the player and the club knew they needed to wait until the final weeks of the transfer window to try and secure better terms for a potential agreement.

A straight loan seems unlikely. But Valencia will seek the most advantageous formula to acquire Largie Ramazani this summer.

Valencia growing confident

The player’s omission from the squad list – and Daniel Farke’s repeated insistence the 25-year-old is not in his plans – only helps to strengthen Valencia’s negotiating position.

The Spanish club intend to capitalise on the Premier League side’s urgency to drive the price down.

This tallies with other reports in Spain. Sport Witness covered a report today explaining that Ramazani’s plan to make a transfer happen was paying off. Now his omission from Leeds’ squad has only added to that feeling.
