Jose Mourinho has explained why Liverpool have no chance of signing Endrick this summer, putting an end to any speculation about the striker.

Endrick has been heavily linked with a move away from Madrid this summer following a loan spell at Lyon last summer.
Liverpool interest in Real Madrid player
Liverpool are, reportedly, one of the sides keen on him as they seek back up for Alexander Isak while Hugo Ekitike is out injured. Now Mourinho has shut down those rumours, and any chance of an exit, entirely.
“I didn’t want to loan him out or sell him because I enjoy working with this young player who possesses significant talent,” he said.
“I’m not sure if he’ll make Carlo Ancelotti’s first national team squad, but having a great friend as the national team coach…”
Injury concerns played down
The Real Madrid manager was asked about the centre-forward’s physical condition. He’s been out injured since the middle of this month with an unidentified muscle injury.
The Real Madrid manager wants to play down any concerns on that front as well. Instead, he wants the focus to be on how much he wants to work with the 20-year-old.
“I don’t know the specific issue; there is some tendinitis,” he added.
“It’s a matter of prevention rather than a major problem. He is a player I like very much, one who has attracted interest from many clubs wanting him either on loan or via a permanent transfer.”
Liverpool, then, would do well to focus their efforts elsewhere. Mourinho and Real Madrid have no intention of thinking about a deal for Endrick this summer.
Instead, he is very much in Mourinho’s plans and will be staying at the Santiago Bernabeu as a result.
