Sheffield United target Oliver Sørensen has admitted that a departure from FC Midtjylland is on the cards this summer.

Ekstra Bladet have comments from the midfielder today in which he admits a move may be on the cards this summer.

They explain that reports in Denmark have previously made it clear that Sheffield United are interested in Sørensen. In fact, they were so interested in him that they made several trips to Denmark to watch him in person.

They’re not the only side showing an interest as there are also German clubs in the picture, meaning he will not lack suitors this summer.

Ekstra Bladet explain that both Sørensen and FC Midtjylland have both stated that they will sell if the right offer comes in for him.

Sheffield United could be one of those making a bid for him and Sørensen is more than aware that he might be living his final moments at a club where he’s been all of his career so far, having come through their youth ranks before progressing to the first team and making 126 appearances in all competitions to date.

“It’s a bit special. I’ve been in FC Midtjylland for 10/11 years, so that’s all I know right now,” he said.

“It is okay. It is part of football (leaving.) There are many things that happen around you. That is also the case if you are not going to continue.

“You have to be able to handle it and tell yourself that what matters now is football. For me now it is the U21 European Championship, and then I have to focus on that. I think it’s going okay for me. I’m okay with that.

“There have been championships. Both as a youth player and fortunately also as a senior player. So, when my time is over, it will be strange. I also think that when we get closer to what is about to happen now, it will probably be sad for me.”
