Manchester United and PSG keen
Ghana’s MyJoy Online report on the Red Devils and the Ligue 1 winners’ interest in Prince Amoako Junior.
Brighton & Hove Albion, SC Freiburg, Feyenoord, AFC Bournemouth, RB Leipzig, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund get mentioned. In addition to these, unnamed clubs from Serie A and La Liga are also in the mix.
Despite this, the report’s title say Manchester United and PSG are leading the race and within the report, they explain the two clubs have ‘expressed strong interest’ in the 19-year-old.
It’s not clear whether Michael Carrick’s side registered their keen interest with his camp, FC Nordsjælland or both. Either way, there could be a potential battle between the Old Trafford club and PSG for the youngster’s signature.
Manchester United, PSG or any other interested party would have spend €27-32m for a potential deal in the summer.
Option for Manchester United
Michael Carrick has been using Matheus Cunha as his first choice for the left wing and also used Patrick Dorgu in the same position.
Marcus Rashford could return from his loan spell at Barcelona, but the English club are likely to sell him in the summer. Aston Villa could be an option for Rashford if the La Liga winners decided against exercising the €30m clause.
Manchester United don’t have a recognised backup for the Brazilian. Having qualified for the Champions League, the Red Devils need more options in the attack.
Prince Amoako Junior can be an option but it’s unclear whether they are willing to spent at least €27m.
CAA Stellar represent the Ghanian and also manage Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo
and Luke Shaw.
