This week, reports from the Brazilian and the English media claimed that Liverpool are one of the clubs who are interested in Fluminense midfielder André.

Now it turns out it’s the Portuguese press who’s talking about this chase, as they have a reason to worry about the Reds being keen on the player.

Newspaper Record features a story on Sporting’s interest in André, and claims that ‘unfortunately’ for them, clubs with bigger ‘financial power’, such as Liverpool, want him to.

That not only makes it more difficult for the Lions to win the battle, but also considers Fluminense to raise their star’s price.

Record writes that the Brazilian clubs ‘know they have gold in their hands’, and therefore will only let him move if for a transfer worth over €20m.

Even in case they do sell him now, it’s said Fluminense would try to find an agreement to only let the player go in January, as they want him finishing the Brazilian season with them.

It seems clear Sporting can’t compete with Liverpool for the signing, and it’s now up to the Reds to negotiate with the Rio de Janeiro side.
