Mateusz Bogusz started his Ibiza loan period well, with the Leeds United owned attacker scoring twice and adding an assist in his first three LaLiga2 matches.

He then went off the boil, at least as far as statistics were concerned, but he was still impressing people at the Spanish club. The 20-year-old’s effort and attitude were going a long way, and whilst Ibiza would have liked more in terms of goals, they weren’t too displeased with what they were getting from the Leeds loan.

In January, he hit something of a purple patch again, and managed an impressive four assists and one goal in three matches. That looked like it could continue for the rest of the campaign, which would have been a huge deal for Ibiza.

However, in the last of those three matches, Bogusz picked up a cruciate ligament injury. At the time, there was uncertainty over whether that would mean the end of the campaign for the player.

AS now state Bogusz ‘will not play again this season’, which, although it was always the likelier outcome, is still a disappointment.
