Victor Orta could look to take Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to Sevilla this summer, although the finances of the deal may prove to be problematic.

That’s according to La Colina de Nervión, who say Orta could turn his attention to Elland Road once he is confirmed as Monchi’s replacement at Sevilla.

They explain that Orta will be quick to get to work shaping the Europa League champions for their return to the Champions League and those efforts could see him focusing on some of the players he’s signed for Leeds in the last few years.

Adams was one of them, arriving in a deal from RB Leipzig last summer, and he is keen to move on after relegation to the Championship this season.

His ‘versatility’ in midfield and ability to win back possession has attracted attention from clubs around Europe, including Sevilla, who are all looking for a player in that mould.

The Spanish side’s interest would come via Orta, who knows the player and his strengths well and ‘already knows’ what it takes to negotiate and sign the player from his former club.

The American was bought for €17m last summer but that price had dropped ‘considerably’ following relegation and Sevilla would take advantage of that, continuing their model of signing players on the cheap to develop and potentially move on for bigger sums down the line.

What the actual valuation of him now is, isn’t mentioned, although even a considerable drop as mentioned would still likely be an issue for Sevilla given their limited finances.

They also face competition from all angles for the player, although Orta’s previous relationship and the fact he knows what it takes to get the midfielder to sign, having taken him to Leeds last summer, all work in his and Sevilla’s favour.
